The SmartWomen Luncheon & Expo raises money for the St. Joseph’s/Candler’s Mary Telfair Women’s Hospital, which includes the Telfair Pavilion that provides mammography, the Telfair BirthPlace, the Children’s Place and all Women’s Services at St. Joseph’s/Candler.
Past years' luncheons have featured notable celebrity women such as Giuliana Rancic, Leigh Anne Tuohy, Olympia Dukakis, Ellen Burstyn, Peggy Fleming, Ivana Trump, Erin Brockovich, Suze Orman and author Mary Kay Andrews.

Joan Lunden
As host of Good Morning America for nearly two decades, Joan Lunden brought insight to top issues for millions of Americans each day. The longest running host ever on early morning television, Lunden reported from 26 countries, interviewed political and business icons and covered four presidents and five Olympics. With a keen interest in health and wellness, Joan Lunden has continued to be a reassuring and informative presence in American homes for more than 30 years. She recently hosted Lifetimes' Health Corner, addressing everyday health concerns; the CW Emmy-winning special America's Invisible Children among many more.
Lunden is a working mother of seven, a caregiver to her mother, and understands the stresses women face today.
Lunden recently co-authored a new edition of Chicken Soup for the Soul: Family Caregiving, was released March, 2012. This is Lunden’s second book with Chicken Soup for the Soul after writing the forward to Chicken Soup for the Soul: Thanks Mom, a Mother’s Day special edition of the famous book series released in 2011.
Joan Lunden is a successful and rising entrepreneur. In 2010, she introduced her home décor collection Joan Lunden Home and continues to sell nationwide; her line of cookware, Twizt, and houseware, Smart & Simple, will launch in March 2012 on QVC; she has a skincare line, Resurgence by the popular Murad Skincare; she launched a child safety product, Kinderkord, designed to help parents and children stay connected, sold in children stores nationwide; and every day women visit her website JoanLunden.com for health, wellness, and lifestyle tips, family information and parenting advice.
Lunden’s passion for disseminating wellness information and inspiring women to take charge of their health & happiness has been at the forefront of many of her projects. Five years ago she created Camp Reveille, a unique retreat where women can recharge, re-energize through camaraderie, renew a sense of self, jump start fitness, and learn the skills needed to achieve a healthier balance in their lives.
Lunden has served as national spokesperson for campaigns with Mothers Against Drunk Driving, the American Lung Association, The American Red Cross and the American Academy of Pediatrics, and spearheaded campaigns on colon cancer prevention for the Colon Cancer Alliance and Amgen, and on type 2 diabetes for Eli Lilly. She speaks regularly on health & wellness, success & defining your brand, philanthropy and giving back, successful parenting, and more.
